Lenovo Ideapad Y550 Multi-Media Laptop Computer Review
A True Multimedia Notebook.
The Lenovo Ideapad Y550 is part of Lenovo's new line of revamped laptops. It's no secret that Lenovo has been making great business notebooks with the ThinkPad line for quite some time, but they've never had anything that was for general and multimedia use.
The Y550 is a multi-media maven's dream with many options that cater to them like Nvidia GFX and Dolby sound. The Ideapad Y550 also comes with a 15.6-inch widescreen display with 16:10 aspect ratio. It has a little bit of everything power, portability and a great price. The Y550 comes with a Intel Core 2 Duo processor but can be upgraded for an additional price to a Core i7 processor. The starting prices on the Y550 laptops are very nice to at $669.

Conclusion
The Lenovo Ideapad Y550 is a good looking multi-media laptop with only a few places that need improvement. The heat and noise isn't too much and the performance is very good especially for a laptop that is under $900. The benefits of the discrete graphics are great it's not that expensive to upgrade on the Lenovo site. With some tinkering you can set yourself up a very nice Windows 7 laptop for under $1000
